Jane Walapu.

Hi, I’m Jane, I am a psychotherapist and counsellor who lives in Manchester. I grew up in Wales and am from a dual heritage background (Black African & Indian).

My passion and reason for becoming a therapist was born through my own life experiences. I have felt the incredible benefits of having the right professional support in my life first hand.

Like most, I myself have experienced trauma, pain and grief. These experiences have taught me that we cannot be our best selves when carrying the weight of unresolved issues. I was carrying these issues in my heart, body and mind and will be forever grateful to the professional help I received to work through and relinquish some of that weight. I want to be able to provide the same support for my clients.

Helping you move forward and live a fulfilled life.

My experience.

I built my therapeutic experience at the National Association for People Abused in Childhood (NAPAC), Salford University Domestic Violence Clinic and the African and Caribbean Mental Health Service. During this time I gained experience helping clients with…

  • identity issues
  • self-esteem / self confidence
  • anxiety
  • domestic abuse
  • coercive control
  • divorce/separation
  • relationship issues
  • grief/loss
  • historic child sex abuse
  • sexual assault
  • race / racism
  • stress & burnout

Though many of my clients came with the above areas of concern, each were people and with that brought their worlds and many issues from across the human experience. If you don’t see who you are what you want to work through in the above please rest assured I’m able to hold space for you.
